As first announced on this site, Glasgow City Council have received formal notice that they are to be investigated over allegations that they have breached legislation over the formation of Culture and Sport Glasgow.

The European Commission are to launch an unprecedented double legal investigation into GCC's transfer of the management of Glasgow's assets to a 'charity' and private company.

The EC has officially stated that it believes the council's conduct may "indicate a potential breach of state aid rules".
